As Montrelean duo Milk & Bone (Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin) prepare for the release of their sophomore album, due to appear in winter 2018 via Bonsound, we’re treated to the first of many electronic-pop wonderments in the form of ‘Daydream’. The song embodies that head-in-the-sky feeling of new love; a precious, fleeting emotion brought to life through Milk & Bone’s gossamer synths, ambient synths and soft, floating vocals. These dreamy elements are brought together with the production of Gabriel Gagnon, plus a later mixing by Gagnon alongside Howie Beck (who’s previously worked with Feist, Ron Sexsmith and Charlotte Day Wilson.) With a year and a half to go until their new LP arrives in full, we can be sure that the Canadian outfit will have plenty more mellifluous songs in store. - HT
